Is McKamey Manor a Haunted House? Read On!
Sat, October 26, 2019
McKamey Manor -  Is it a haunted house and what do we think about this attraction?  To answer your first question NO McKamey Manor is NOT a haunted house.
We have NO idea why McKamey Manor keeps calling himself the scariest haunted house in America.  McKamey Manor is not a haunted house and it certainly isn't the scariest haunted house.  Our understanding is McKamey Manor started as a home haunted house in Russ McKamey backyard and somehow evolved into a torture chamber.  What is the difference between a haunted house and McKamey Manor?

1)  Haunted Houses typically do not allow their actors to touch customers.  MM not only allows touching, we wonder out loud if what he's doing is criminal.  MM not only touches people, but they do way worse.  A haunted House doesn't dump spiders in your mouth, bury you in mud, or water board people.

2)  Haunted Houses are completely safe, inspected by the fire department, building officials, follow fire codes and regulations.  What MM is doing can essentially be done inside his garage that is not a haunted house.  Furthermore we wonder if he even has this event inspected.

3)  A haunted house puts in groups of people, they wind thru mazes, exhibits, animations and live actors attempt to frighten you in a safe environment.  At MM what they do is totally different in that they put you inside a room and TORTURE YOU!  MM is more of a torture chamber, trying to get people to give up, while being filmed for the owners amusement.   Haunted Houses don't film their guests having stuff poured into their face and humiliated on youtube.

4)  When you exit a haunted house you will not be caked in blood, mud, vomit or anything else... while at MM look at the people who give up, they're covered in who knows what.  A trip thru a haunted house  groups of friends can enter together, and McKamey Manor people are individually tortured until they give up.

In the end we don't even understand HOW McKamey Manor is legal much less a haunted house.  Before everything is all said and done we would expect someone will get seriously injured or even die subjecting themselves to this type of venue.  We do NOT recommend McKamey Manor as an alternative to a local haunted house. Any person who find enjoyment in torturing people you have to ask what kind of person is that really?  MM is NOT a haunted house not even close.  The number one question we're asked every single year is 'CAN THEY TOUCH YOU' and we must answer NO otherwise 99.9% of possible guests will NOT attend.  Events like MM need their own category called TORTURE CHAMBERS not haunted houses.  When you think of the term Haunted House, you think of abandonded houses, with creaky floors, or Disney's Haunted Mansion, or your local attractions.  When you think of the term 'haunted house' does torture, water boarding, being buried in mud, having things dripped into your mouth, bound and thrown inside a freezer does ANY OF THAT enter your mind?  The answer is NO!  So MM is NOT a haunted house PERIOD!
